presidentThe RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) has awarded 15 preschools and schools the World Toilet Day Commemoration Fund (WTDCF) for organising activities in October and November to commemorate World Toilet Day (WTD). Though the amount of WTDCF - currently capped at $250 - may be insignificant as compared to other funding for preschools and schools, it was indeed encouraging to receive 15 applications before the August deadline which was only three months since the WTDCF launch in May.

The WTDCF was introduced in May for preschools and schools to organise activities to commemorate World Toilet Day. 8 preschools, 6 primary and 1 secondary schools were awarded the WTDCF. The fund application deadline is 31 August every year.

RAS partners with Universal Sovereign Trading (UST) on a series of activities

UST employees conduct Happy Toilet mystery audits as part of their ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. UST, the distributor of tissue products, is the first corporate partner to participate in mystery toilet audits.

RAS certifies first bus interchange under the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP)

The toilets at the Yishun Bus Interchange have been awarded 4 stars under the revised HTP criteria. It is the first bus interchange to be accredited under the HTP. The bus interchange under the SMRT now joins other 17 SMRT train stations.

LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Awards Ceremony

The inaugural LOO Awards Ceremony will be held on 19 November, World Toilet Day at Qihua Primary School. Invited Guest-of-Honour, Mr Ronnie Tay, Chief Executive Officer of the National Environment Agency (NEA), will be presenting the awards.

LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Carnival

The LOO Carnival will be held from 5 October to 22nd November at seven shopping malls – venue sponsored by the HDB – namely Admiralty Place, Dawson Place, Fajar Shopping Centre, Taman Jurong Shopping Centre, Joo Chiat Shopping Centre, Yew Tee Square and Gek Poh Shopping Centre. The carnival aims to raise public awareness about World Toilet Day.

 

The Urgent Run 2015 (Singapore)

The World Toilet Organization will be organising The Urgent Run at East Coast Park on 7th November at 8am to commemorate World Toilet Day. Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong is the Guest-of-Honour. In 2014, 22 Urgent Runs were organised in 13 countries.
