World Toilet Day Commemoration Fund

The World Toilet Day is commemorated worldwide on 19 November annually since 2001. This international day aims to inspire the global community to take action to break the toilet taboo and raise global awareness that a staggering 2.5 billion people still do not have access to proper sanitation. In its bid to make sanitation for all a global development priority, the United Nations General Assembly designated 19 November as World Toilet Day on 24 July 2013.

The World Toilet Day Commemoration Fund (WTDCF) introduced by the RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) encourages all preschools and schools, both government and private, to organise toilet-related activities and events in their preschools, schools and community in October and/or November to commemorate World Toilet Day.

20 selected preschools and schools will be awarded the fund capped at $250.00. The RAS will work closely with the awarded preschools and schools to provide the necessary assistance and mentoring.

Selected preschools and schools can be awarded under the Happy Toilets @ Preschools Programme and Sustaining Toilets As Restrooms (STAR) Awards Programme respectively.

Outstanding teachers, staff and students can also be nominated for the LOO (Let's Observe Ourselves) Awards.
