2008 had been a year of milestone achievements for the RAS with the
successful launch of LOO Campaign 2008-2010, inception of the Inter
Agencies Working Committee (IAWC) and the implementation of the
Certified/Volunteer Eco-Assessor (CEA/VEA) Programme. Tapping on these
achievements, RAS will constantly strive to break new grounds in 2009.

RAS welcomes Singapore Petroleum
Company (SPC) into our Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) family
Ms
Norwati, our Certified Eco-Assessor (CEA), conducting a toilet audit at one
of the SPC’s service stations in Ang Mo Kio. A total of 38 service
stations have been audited by our CEAs.

RAS holds second
Inter Agencies Working Committee (IAWC) meeting
Representatives from the User sub-committee,
starting off on a lighter note during the second IAWC meeting held at the
JTC Summit. Three new sub-committees (Owners and Operators, Cleaners and
Contractors, and Users) were successfully introduced during the meeting.

RAS and brainstormed by a team of SMU undergraduates.

ECo Loo Assessors Programme
South West CDC is looking at
launching their ECo Loo Assessors Programme in April 2009. As part of their
ECo Plan South West, their target is to get 400 secondary school students
to assess toilets around their school / homes. RAS has been asked to provide
training to the students to be Volunteer Eco-Assessors which we will be
doing.

Singapore Young ChangeMakers Conference (YCMC) 2009
The Singapore Youth Volunteer
Conference (SYVC) has been rescheduled from 16-17 March to 18-19 July 2009
at the Singapore
Management University.
The name of the conference has also been changed to Young ChangeMakers
Conference 2009 (YCMC). RAS has earlier accepted the invitation as an
integral resource partner for the conference. The purpose of the conference
is to engage the youth participants to plan and execute a community project
for the Voluntary Welfare Organization that they will be attached to.

Pulire Asia 2009
The Pulire Asia Cleaning Solutions Expo
2009 will now take place on 2-4 December 2009 instead of the originally
scheduled 24-26 March 2009. The venue will remain unchanged at Suntec Singapore. RAS has
already accepted an invitation and will showcase its exhibits and conduct a
workshop on its programmes. Pulire Asia 2009 is the most relevant trade
exhibition for cleaning industry and environmental services in Asia
Pacific.
