The RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) has introduced the World Toilet Day Commemoration Fund (WTDCF) for preschools and schools in its bid to raise awareness about World Toilet Day (WTD) which is now observed internationally on 19th November. With a staggering 2.5 billion people still without access to proper sanitation, the United Nations General Assembly designated 19th November as WTD on 24 July 2013 to make sanitation for all a global development priority.

Information about the WTDCF was disseminated to preschools and schools in May. The fund aims to encourage all preschools and schools, both government and private, to organise toilet-related activities and events to commemorate World Toilet Day.

RAS garners support for its Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) from Moulmein-Kallang Town Council (MKTC)

 

A total of 15 market and food centres managed by the MKTC will soon be certified under the revised HTP criteria with Sims Vista Market & Food Centre already awarded 4 stars.

RAS certifies more preschools under the new Happy Toilets @ Preschools Programme (HTPP)

 

Since the launch of the HTPP in February, 40 preschools have signed up for the new programme with 11 accredited for achieving the two thumbs-up rating in Design and Education.

RAS supports Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients

School Cluster Operations Manager (OM) Training Workshops

 

RAS Executive Director Emerson Hee sharing benefits of the STAR (Sustaining Toilets As Restrooms) Awards Programme with School Operations Managers (OMs) at the North 3 Cluster OM Training Workshop held at Edgefield Primary School. From April to May, RAS had been invited to six workshops to share about its school programme.

Happy Toilets @ Shopping Malls Service Learning Project

 

St. Hilda’s Secondary 3 students organising an appreciation lunch for the cleaning attendants from Tampines Central Community Complex (TCCC) shopping mall. The students also organised onsite activities to educate shoppers from 15th - 16th June.
