With
the LOO Campaign just around the corner, RAS has been embarking on a number
of initiatives to ensure the success of this unprecedented campaign. RAS
has been seeking support from Community Development Councils (CDCs),
government agencies, cleaning contractors, toilet owners and users to
spruce up the public toilets.

|
RAS gears up for LOO Campaign
RAS has been firming
up its plans to meet the campaign’s objective of achieving the 2010
goal of clean public toilets island wide, to meet its Happy Toilet
Programme (HTP) three-star rating. The RAS has successfully garnered support
from some Mayors and their respective Community Development Councils
(CDCs). Toilet owners such as the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and
National Parks Board (NParks) have also agreed to work with us to spruce up
the toilets under their care. The Environmental Management Association of
Singapore (EMAS), aiming to become the voice for the cleaning industry in Singapore,
will also partner with RAS to raise the image and professionalism of the
toilet cleaning industry.

Visit by Dr. Tom Keating
In July, Dr. Tom
Keating from the United States
will visit Singapore
to share his expertise and advise RAS on its school outreach programmes. Dr.
Tom Keating is the coordinator and founder of Project CLEAN, which is
recognized world-wide, as a leading effort to improve government (public)

Official Launch of LOO Campaign 2008-2010
RAS will launch the LOO campaign in August to
achieve our 2010 goal of sprucing up the local public toilets, with at
least a 3 star Happy Toilet rating, which is the basic standard of toilet
cleanliness. Mayors, our partners and supporters will be invited to a
signing ceremony.
