Just as in year
2020,
the RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) continued to support the
Singapore Management University (SMU) on their Toilet Cleanliness Index
(TCI) study of coffeeshops and hawker centres, by providing pro-bono
training to the undergraduates on the criteria of public toilet
assessment this year. With the findings and results, we can better
formulate solutions and work with the stakeholders to resolve the
challenges.
We are pleased to hold a virtual meeting with the Japan Toilet Association (JTA)
to exchange knowledge and information with each other including the
challenges faced in toilet maintenance. We hope this exchange will better
enable us to emulate the high toilet standards in Japan. After the
meeting, it was heartening for us to receive an invitation from the JTA
to showcase an exhibition about our programmes at their 39th National
Toilet Symposium held in Tokyo. RAS is one of eight organisations they
are planning to invite to their symposium.
While the symposium will favourably feature RAS in the
international arena, RAS has not lacked international exposure over the
years and have been highly regarded by other countries including LINK,
the largest real estate investment trust in Asia, which wrote to us to
request for a site visit to a 6-Star
Happy Toilet at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and training on
design and maintenance. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to
the management of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands for hosting the visit.
With the LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Awards to be held on 17 November,
we look forward to meeting our exemplary award recipients, partners and
supporters.
