It is
indeed a privilege for the RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) to receive
the Silent Heroes Awards in August. Since founded in 1998, RAS has been
working tirelessly. Undaunted by many challenges, we achieved many
milestones and launched flagship programmes such as our public toilet-rating
Happy Toilet Programme which recently welcomed another tourist attraction Merlion Park in its programme.

clinches Silent Heroes Awards 2016
Our
Honorary Secretary Mr Colin See (right) receiving the Silent Heroes Awards
from Guest-of-Honour Mr Ong Ye Kung, Acting Minister for Education (Higher
Education and Skills) and Senior Minister of State for Defence on 27th
August. RAS was selected under the Organisation - Environment category.

RAS certifies another major tourist attraction under the Happy
Toilet Programme (HTP)
Toilets at the Merlion
Park along Fullerton Road were certified Five Stars in August. Though
initiated by the management of Merlion Park, service provider Anchor
Cleaning Agency paid for the Happy Toilet certification in its bid to
provide value-added services.

RAS
engages the help of Nan Chiau High students to
raise funds through Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) 2016
A carnival
was organised by a group of Nan Chiau High
students at Rivervale Plaza on 14th August to
raise funds and educate the public to better appreciate cleaning
attendants. Grocery vouchers and gifts were also presented to the
mall’s attendants. The students raised more than $6,000 through
street sales and other events.

shares its Happy Toilets @ Preschools Programme (HTPP) with principals and
teachers
Our

National Environment Agency (NEA) on 26th July.

LOO (Let’s
Observe Ourselves) Awards Ceremony
The
inaugural LOO Awards
Ceremony will be held on 17 November, at CHIJ Our Lady
Queen of Peace. Invited Guest-of-Honour, Dr Amy Khor,
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources
& Ministry of Health, will be presenting the awards.
