With
the kind assistance rendered by media friends and close partners, bringing
up the subject of toilets has become less of a taboo topic as RAS continues
its positive outreach to more people, both locals and foreigners. We are
thankful to MediaCorp Radio, Capital 958 for
airing a special feature about our Volunteer Eco-Assessor (VEA) programme
and to both the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the National
Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) for inviting us to share our key
programmes with foreign delegates and local volunteers respectively.

RAS promotes its Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) with help from
the National Environment Agency (NEA)
Mr John Loh, the
key person for the Happy Toilet Programme, sharing HTP information with
coffeeshop operators at the NEA South West Regional Office on 13th
September. Similar briefings were also conducted at the North West Regional
Office on 18th August and 13th September.

RAS recruits
Volunteer Eco-Assessors (VEAs) via MediaCorp Radio Capital 958
On 1st September,
Capital 958 aired a nine-minute feature on our Volunteer Eco-Assessor
Programme. The feature covered a journalist’s learning journey on the
procedures of conducting toilet inspections and interviews with our
President and a VEA.

RAS conducts
first training session for hospital
Mr John Loh (centre),
the key person for the Eco-Assessor Programme, conducting practical
training for the managing agent of the
Institute of Mental Health (IMH) on 26th August. The one-hour session
provides the participants with the procedures of conducting toilet inspections.

Schools’ Carnival
RAS is setting up games and
activities for preschoolers visiting the Clean & Green Singapore
Schools’ Carnival to be held from 9th to 10th November at ITE College
West.

LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves)
Carnival & Awards 2011
RAS is holding its LOO (Let’s
Observe Ourselves) Carnival & Awards 2011 from 24th to 25th November at
the Fountain Square of the City Square Mall. The LOO Awards ceremony will
be held at the carnival to recognise organisations and individuals for
their achievements and contributions in the restroom environment.
