The RAS,
Restroom Association (Singapore) warmly congratulates owners of five Happy Toilets for
clinching the prestigious ASEAN Public Toilet Award held on 6th February
in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Five Happy Toilets, which were rated 5 or
6-stars, were nominated by the RAS for the biennial award recognising
exemplary public toilets in the ASEAN region.
Our flagship Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) has
been widely recognised both locally and overseas as an exemplary standard
of public toilets especially 6 and 5-star rated Happy Toilets. In February,
we were pleased to welcome integrated sport and community hub Bukit
Canberra onboard our HTP. Heartbeat
@ Bedok was the first community hub to be certified under the HTP in
2019. The 11th LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Awards were also
organised at the hub that year.
Maintenance remains one of the key factors on
both toilet cleanliness and hygiene especially in preschools with young
children. Following the launch of a set of hygiene
checklists for preschools in 2020, RAS continued to conduct training
to preschool support staff with 25 of them from the PAP Community
Foundation attending the training session in March. RAS is committed to
working with all stakeholders to offer a clean and safe restroom
environment to people of all ages.
