The RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) continued to reach out to the remaining hawker centres in the final year of its LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Campaign @ Hawker Centres. Since 2011, RAS has reached out to 80 hawker centres managed by 10 Town Councils and 3 social enterprises. QR-code educational tissue packets on showing kindness to cleaning attendants were distributed to more than 25,000 public patrons, garnering more than 1,200 online pledges to keep hawker centre toilets clean.

RAS reaches out to remaining hawker centres this year after reaching out to 80 hawker centres for the past 2 years. Apart from training and audit, public outreach was also conducted at 80 hawker centres with educational tissue packets distributed to stall holders and patrons.

RAS certifies more Happy Toilets equipped with smart products certified by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC)

More smart products were certified by the SGBC. There are 4 ratings, from 1 to 4 ticks, which denote Good, Very Good, Excellent and Leader. The products are listed on SGBC’s website under Public Hygiene category. Products are also listed on RAS’ website for a fee.

RAS supports toilet-entry fee increase at Pei Kio Hawker Centre (PKTC) & nominates the restroom caretakers for LOO Awards

PKHC caretakers have been nominated for the LOO Awards. The HC is managed by Tanjong Pagar Town Council (TPTC) which also participated in our LOO Campaign. Instead of its caretakers bearing all supply and maintenance costs, TPTC included them in its new cleaning contract. RAS applauds their good initiative.
