RAS partners with Ascendo Academy on a restroom inspection course

The partnership between Ascendo Academy and RAS will enable Environmental Control Coordinators (ECC) course participants to be equipped with the essential skills of assessing toilet standards. Upon ECC course completion, RAS will separately conduct the restroom inspection course for interested ECC course participants at no costs.

After the course, participants will be able to

·         Demonstrate understanding of restroom assessment

·         Assess public toilet

·         Submit results, feedback and recommendations

A comprehensive checklist, which was jointly developed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and RAS will be used during the course. Participants will receive an e-certificate of attendance after the course. RAS conducted similar training, which also included restroom cleaning, for more than 400 coffeeshop cleaning and supervising staff from September 2020 to March 2021.

RAS extends its outreach to other Town Council as part of its LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Campaign @ Hawker Centres

Another 40 hawker centres managed by the remaining Town Councils (TCs) namely Aljunied-Hougang, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan-Toa Payoh Town, East Coast, Holland-Bukit Panjang, Marine Parad and JTC, were targeted in the second phase of the LOO Campaign @ Hawker Centres. Training sessions for cleaning attendants, supervisors and TC staff have been scheduled to be conducted in July, followed by toilet auditing from August till September.

Public outreach to patrons and stall holders to show their appreciation and kindness to all cleaning attendants will be scheduled from October to March. In the first phase, RAS reached out to 40 hawker centres from 5 town councils namely Jalan Besar, Jurong-Clementi, Nee Soon, Tanjong Pagar and West Coast. A comprehensive report with findings and recommendations was sent to all the TCs. RAS will continue to work with these TCs to improve the toilet standard of their hawker centres.

RAS awards the Happy Toilets @ Preschools Projects (HTPP) Grant to 15 preschools

In partnership with Dyson, 15 preschools under the Happy Toilets @ Preschools Programme were awarded the HTPP grant.
