During the COVID-19 Circuit Breaker in April last year, the RAS,
Restroom Association (Singapore) was permitted to continue its essential
service - Happy
Toilet assessment. With the recent Heightened Alert period, RAS
continued its operations with heightened measures including submission of
its onsite-manpower details to the authority and implementation of
TraceTogether-only SafeEntry at its office. Working remotely from home or
onsite-staggered working hours have remained a default since last
year.
With the adoption of a
new norm due to the pandemic, RAS already digitalised most of its core
operations including all of its financial procedures from internet
banking to electronic-signing approvals via DocuSign. RAS is further
gearing up for full digitalisation of its other operations namely
invoicing and customer relationship management through a Social
Impact Program with Oracle NetSuite. RAS embarked on the same program
last year with pro-bono service offered by employees of Oracle NetSuite
to set up its financial accounting function. RAS is greatly indebted and
appreciative to Oracle NetSuite for their continued pro-bono service this
year. We look forward to further streamlining our other operations upon
successful completion of this Oracle NetSuite’s program.
With the current
pandemic situation, continued education on hygiene and good restroom
etiquette remains our key focus. Since last year, RAS has continued to
innovate on its preschool and school education programmes. Online talks
and workshops were conducted live instead of video recordings, so as to
better interact with preschoolers and students while minimising contact
with them. Training was also conducted for preschool teachers to equip
them with the knowledge and skills to guide preschoolers to execute
projects under the Happy
Toilets @ Preschools Projects Grant. The grant, which was a
partnership with APP Commercial Pte Ltd, was awarded to 10 preschools to
engage their preschoolers on projects from now till December this year. We hope the grant can
better educate preschoolers through projects in a fun and interactive
manner. Inculcating them with good hygiene habits and restroom etiquette
from young, is always a key to actualise our vision - Fostering a
gracious society embracing excellence in restroom culture!
