It is heartening for the RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) to set another new milestone for the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) with the accreditation of the first convention & exhibition centre - Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. The HTP is not only a testimony to the owner’s commitment to providing toilets of recognised standards; it also serves as a testimony to the cleaning service provider’s commitment to maintain toilets of recognised standards.

RAS certifies first convention & exhibition centre under the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP)

The toilets at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre were certified 5-stars under the HTP for the first time in August. The HTP is the only toilet accreditation scheme supported by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and featured in both their website and myENV mobile app.

RAS shares about toilet rating under the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP)

Our Manager Mr John Loh sharing about the HTP rating criteria in a video, which was published on The Smart Local’s Facebook page in August, with more than 168,000 views. The HTP was also shared with facility-management managers at a 3-day workshop organised by the NEA in September.

RAS partners with Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) under the Innovation Guidance Projects (IGP)

After a successful pilot run with 10 preschools under the IGP last year, RAS continued its partnership with the ECDA, reaching out to 15 preschools this year. In April, training was conducted for preschool teachers to guide preschoolers to embark on hygiene projects such as toilet decorations.

RAS partners with VISO on study of productivity on restroom cleaning

In April, an on-site productivity study was initiated by VISO in partnership with the RAS on the time spent by cleaning attendants to maintain toilets with paper towels as compared to toilets with hand dryers.

LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Awards Ceremony

The inaugural LOO Awards Ceremony will be held on 19 November, at Heartbeat@Bedok. The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with a three-day event from 17 – 19 November to commemorate World Toilet Day and educate the public to better appreciate the cleaning attendants. Grocery vouchers will also be presented to all attendants working at Heartbeat@Bedok on 18 November.
