RAS certifies
more tourist attractions under the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP)
A Certified Eco-Assessor (CEA), who is a single parent
of two young children and a cancer survivor, conducting HTP audits at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. She also
conducted an audit at Sentosa earlier on 30th May.
The HTP is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative for toilet
owners to not only provide clean toilets but also help the low-income CEAs.

RAS
releases LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Connect Android app on Google
Play Store
With
help from the Singapore Land Authority and the Nanyang
Polytechnic, the LOO
Connect Android app was released on Google Play Store on 9th May. The app
uses the OneMap plug-in which allows the public
to locate more than 200 Happy Toilet locations
and also acts as a public feedback channel.

RAS successfully
applies to the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) as an associate member
The
RAS, a charity and an IPC, has been accepted as an associate member of the
NCSS. RAS is committed in helping the low-income group including low-wage
cleaning attendants. A new kindness project will be introduced this year as
part of its STAR Awards Programme to
encourage schools to organise activities to appreciate the efforts of cleaning
attendants.

prizes to the top-three winners of the LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) Whiz
Facebook game
The
top-three winners of the LOO
Whiz Facebook game demonstrating their
excellent restroom cleaning skills at the RAS office before collecting
their prizes. When interviewed, all winners agreed that the game had been effective
in reminding them to keep the toilets clean. The game provides gamers with
a hands-on experience of restroom cleaning.

RAS continues its
collaboration with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East
A hip-hop
dance group of 30 students from the ITE College East dancing to the rhythm
of Justin Bieber’s
“Baby” song which was rewritten with toilet educational lyrics
and performed live by two students. The performance was part of a +ACT
(Positive Action for the Care of Toilets) 3-year campaign which was first
launched in 2011.

RAS supports and
participates in the International Facility Management (iFaME)
Expo 2013
The
RAS was featured in the second page of the iFaME
show catalogue which was distributed to more than 60 exhibitors and 6,000
trade professionals. RAS was the supporting association for the iFaME 2013 which
was held from 7th to 9th May at the Marina Bay Sands. The iFaME is the
Singapore’s first facility management trade show.
