As we move forward in our crusade for higher toilet standards, it is heartening to see a substantial 40% increase in the number of Happy Toilets as compared to the same period last year. The increase underscores not only the growing popularity, but more vitally, the stronger commitment of the owners in their provision of quality toilets. The programme is not merely about toilets given a proper check but also creates a charitable cause to employ needy housewives and retirees as Eco-Assessors to take up assignments near their homes.

RAS certifies all AsiaMalls’ toilets as star-rated Happy Toilets

A total of 78 AsiaMalls’ toilets from 6 shopping malls namely Century Square, Hougang Mall, Liang Court, Tampines 1, Tiong Bahru Plaza and White Sands were certified under the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) from May to June. There are currently 29 shopping malls under the HTP.

RAS provides staff retreat training for Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura (PPIS)

Mr John Loh, Manager for Training & Standards, sharing good hygiene practices with PPIS’ cleaning crew and chefs at their staff retreat on 22nd June. The full-day training session consisted of theoretical and practical lessons which included restroom cleaning and inspection.

RAS shares key information with School Operations Managers

RAS ropes in volunteers for its LOO (Let’s Observe Ourselves) @ Heartlands public awareness campaign

A volunteer distributing an educational tissue packet to a female visitor at the toilet entrance of a Koufu’s coffee shop outlet in Sengkang on 7th June. Since the annual campaign started in end May, about 20 volunteers have participated.

RAS participates actively in Youth for the Environment Day (YED) and Earth Day

Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources stopping for a media interview after an exhibition tour at Dunman High School on 20th April. RAS showcased its exhibits to the Minister and visitors to mark YED. RAS also showcased its exhibits at Chongzheng Primary for its Earth Day celebrations on 19th-20th April.

Green Festival 2012

RAS has been invited as one of the green partners for the Green Pavilion at the Green Festival 2012 to be held on 6th-8th July at the Marina Square Central Atrium. The aim of the festival is to educate, inform and raise awareness on green concerns.
