After initiating its first LOO – Let’s Observe Ourselves – Awards last year, RAS has yet again devised another bold initiative by holding its first LOO – Let’s Observe Ourselves – Carnival this year. The carnival aims to raise public awareness on the need to adopt the right restroom culture. With the coming of this signature event in December, we hope to see a good turnout for this carnival as your support is crucial to its success. The LOO Awards will also return to be held in conjunction with the carnival and we are looking forward to receive more nominations this year.

RAS will be holding its first LOO – Let’s Observe Ourselves – Carnival 2010 from 3rd to 5th December this year in conjunction with the LOO Awards Ceremony which was held for the first time last year. Nominations for the LOO Awards 2010 will close on 31st October. RAS is proud to have the National Library Board (NLB) as the venue sponsor of the carnival this year.

Avid car owners visiting the restrooms of Borneo Motors Showroom at Leng Kee Road will soon get to see the display of our HTP plaques. Borneo Motors is the first showroom to come onboard the HTP, a star-rating system for quality restrooms.

Mr Eric Foo, our key person for our Eco-Assessor Programme, conducting the training session for NWRO officers on the judging criteria of the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP). The judging criteria are a crucial element in the training of our Eco-Assessors to better prepare them for the assessment of restroom standards.

RAS showcases its Learning Pavilion at libraries

Student volunteers setting up our Learning Pavilion at the Pasir Ris Public Library. Making its debut for the first time in the heartlands, the roving exhibition has reached out to three libraries namely the Pasir Ris Public Library in April followed by Sengkang Public Library in May and Jurong Regional Library in June. The last stop is Bukit Merah Public Library in July.

TSS is one of the 200 schools in Singapore that has participated in our school education programme to decorate its restrooms.

S.T.A.R. – Sustaining Toilets As Restrooms – Awards Programme at North West

RAS is partnering with the North West Community Development Council (NWCDC) to roll out a new school education programme called the “STAR Awards Programme”. The programme will commence from the second semester of the school term and reach out to 20 primary and secondary schools in the North West. The programme will then extend to other primary and secondary schools in other parts of Singapore.

LOO – Let’s Observe Ourselves – Carnival 2010

RAS is holding its first LOO – Let’s Observe Ourselves – Carnival 2010 from 3rd to 5th December at the Plaza of the National Library Building. Invited Guest-of-Honour, Dr Amy Khor, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, will grace the event and present the LOO awards to the recipients on 3rd December.
