Highlights of the upcoming activities and projects from Sept to Dec 2007

Clean and Green Week 2007

·         The nationwide Clean and Green Week campaign to be held in November will see its 18th year since it started in 1990. The theme for this year is an "Environmental Friendly (Clean & Green) Lifestyle". Following last year's successful showcase of “The Loo-tiquette Quest”, RAS will be participating in the annual Clean & Green Week Schools’ Carnival 6-7 Nov at Suntec City once again. Look out for us in the Wonderland section (catered especially for preschool children) where we will be having hands-on activities, games and story-telling sessions!

World Toilet Day 2007

·         The purpose of having this day is to have people in all countries to take action, increase awareness of toilet user’s right to a better toilet environment, and to demand for it from toilet owners. As such, it is also the toilet user’s duty to contribute towards its maintenance, cleanliness and hygiene. The public marks the day to practice toilet etiquette, the restroom community-at-large celebrates with a new declaration for the forthcoming year.

RAS will be celebrating World Toilet Day 2007 in a one-of-a-kind manner, so watch out!

Therefore, we interns are given huge responsibilities and assignments to handle, unlike the other big organizations. My job scope includes helping out in their programs and events, assisting RAS staff in their work and...

I'm LOO-ving It! - Internship Experience in RAS

My last summer holiday was quite a fulfilling one as I had the opportunity to do my internship at RAS. As part of the NTU Professional Attachment (PA) programme, I was given the chance to choose six organizations from a list of participating organizations and RAS was ranked first in my list of six chosen ones. I never knew we have an organization in Singapore that advocates for clean public toilets until this internship experience. Many have asked me why I chose RAS as my PA organization instead of other well-established multi-national companies. In my opinion...
