Singapore hails the reputation of being a clean and green city, a nation with a high literacy rate and well developed with modern technology and infrastructure. Sadly, such achievements are not reflected in the ABC to achieve clean toilets; ABC meaning Architecture, Behaviour and Cleanliness. There are still many problems in the local toilet environment.
Despite efforts to improve the ABCs of public toilets, we still face dirty toilets due to issues such as inconsiderate toilet users who abuse and misuse public toilets, poorly designed toilets that fail to cater to users' needs and inadequately trained toilet cleaners who do not have the necessary skill set to carry out their duties in professional manner.
For centuries, toilets have been regarded as taboo because people are too embarrassed to discuss the topic, but the subject of toilets is so important because it is a part of our everyday lifestyle. And since that is the case, good toilet culture has to be developed.
At RAS, we believe that every toilet user is our potential partner in improving Singapore's public toilets. We welcome people who share our common belief with the passion and interest to work with us towards improving Singapore's toilet standards.
