In its bid
to support the nation’s move towards a smart nation, the RAS,
Restroom Association (Singapore) announced the adoption of smart solutions
as a new criterion for the Happy Toilet Programme,
at the 11th LOO (Let’s
Observe Ourselves) Awards held at Heartbeat @ Bedok on 19 November, World Toilet Day. These
revised criteria will not only encourage the adoption of smart solutions
but most importantly translate to better productivity and efficiency in
toilet maintenance.
At the LOO Awards, we were
heartened to see 42 exemplary award recipients, from diverse sectors and
backgrounds, organisations from public to private sectors and individuals
from young to old, receiving the awards from Senior Minister of State for
the Environment and Water Resources Dr Amy Khor. Their outstanding
contributions were crucial to the sustainability of quality toilet
standards in Singapore.
Two days prior to the
LOO Awards, exhibitions, games and activities were held at Heartbeat @
Bedok to educate the public to show kindness to our fellow cleaning
attendants. We are extremely thankful to our venue partner Heartbeat @
Bedok for generously offering their premises for our event and displaying
their strong commitment to provide quality toilets by meeting our Happy
Toilet 5-star standard. 50 cleaning attendants working at the Heartbeat @
Bedok were each presented with $40 worth of grocery vouchers to
recognise their efforts for tirelessly
maintaining the cleanliness of Heartbeat @ Bedok.
As we welcome the New
Year with a new lease of life, RAS is actively gearing up for more
impactful initiatives to inject vitality to our vibrant restroom
environment. With the continued support from all stakeholders, we are
confident we can continue to scale greater heights and achieve better
milestones.
