The RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) had been actively
gearing up for its 5-year
action plan of evolving as a Toilet Hub for building owners to
provide quality toilets, cleaning attendants to provide quality services
and public users to show consideration. We are pleased to welcome
shopping centres under the Far East Organization coming on board the Happy Toilet Programme
for the first time while we expect our training sessions for
Ascendas-Singbridge will help ensure better-designed and well-maintained
toilets in its buildings.
Training sessions on better design and
maintenance were conducted for employees of Ascendas-Singbridge while
appreciation activities for cleaning attendants and educational
activities for users were organised by Republic Polytechnic students
under the Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes
initiative. These appreciation activities for cleaning attendants will
motivate the attendants to display their commitment in providing quality
cleaning services, while the public educational activities will raise
awareness about the importance of showing kindness and consideration to
the attendants.
RAS has always remained a strong advocate for
user education as we actively reach out to everyone as young as
preschoolers, to inculcate good restroom etiquette and hygiene practices.
RAS’ convincing presentation at the National Environment Agency (NEA)
Pre-school Environmental Education Advisor Networking Session saw growing
interest in our Happy
Toilets @ Preschools Programme with more than 20 preschools signing
up for the programme at the session.
As we tirelessly prepare for the milestone
launch of our SaniGives
at the LOO (Let’s
Observe Ourselves) Awards ceremony at Our Tampines Hub in November,
we are urging everyone to come support us in making this launch a
meaningful and significant success, so as to actualise our vision of
building a gracious society embracing excellence in restroom culture.
