We are heartened to
receive the continued support from the National
Environment Agency (NEA) for our Happy Toilet Programme
(HTP). All 25 market and food centres managed by the NEA including 20
of its office toilets have actively participated in our HTP. With the
recent addition of Happy Toilets in their myENV
mobile application app which has since garnered more than 100,000
downloads for its Android app, we foresee more building owners to see the
positive branding and publicity they stand to gain from participating in
our HTP.
Our
evolution in rebranding ourselves as a Voluntary Welfare Organisation
(VWO) has taken a significant step with a team of Dunman
High School students raising funds for us to appreciate the efforts of
cleaning attendants under the Citi-YMCA
Youth For Causes initiative for the first time. With more than $4,000
raised, the donations will directly benefit the cleaning attendants and nothing
can express our deepest gratitude to both corporate and public donors,
especially the students, for their generous support.
As a VWO and Institution of a Public Character (IPC)
selected on board the Care & Share Movement
led by Community Chest, we participated in the ComChest
Heartstrings Walk 2014 for the first time in our bid to heighten
public awareness on the need to better appreciate the efforts of the
cleaning attendants. Prior to this community walk, another community
event organised by Dairy
Farm Singapore also saw a similar good turnout visiting our booth.
With the coming of World Toilet Day on 19 November, we hope to better
commemorate it by achieving more milestones and we are certainly looking
forward to the continued support from the three key stakeholders namely
the owners, cleaning service providers and users.
