It is
heartening for the RAS, Restroom Association (Singapore) to set another new
milestone for the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) with the accreditation
of the first convention & exhibition centre - Suntec Singapore
Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The HTP is not only a testimony to the owner’s commitment to
providing toilets of recognised standards; it also serves as a testimony
to the cleaning service provider’s commitment to maintain toilets
of recognised standards.
I am pleased with the rising
prominence of the HTP among owners and cleaning service providers but
public awareness about the programme is equally crucial not only to
publicise and promote the HTP but most importantly, to sustain the standard
of the star-rated toilets through public feedback. Therefore, we actively
supported a recent filming collaboration with media publisher The Smart Local
which shared about our HTP to members of the public through their website
and social media platforms.
While HTP targets the
owners and cleaning service providers to reinforce their strong
commitment on sustaining quality toilet standards, educational programmes
are paramount to reinforce user education on sustaining quality toilet
standards as well. We uphold our strong belief that the most effective
education is to start from young as we continue to partner with Early Childhood
Development Agency under the Innovation
Guidance Projects to reach out to 15 preschools to educate the
preschoolers.
With our upcoming LOO (Let’s Observe
Ourselves) Awards ceremony on 19 November, we are actively gearing up
for the event. This year, the awards ceremony will be held in conjunction
with a three-day event from 17th to 19th November to commemorate World Toilet Day and
educate the public to better appreciate cleaning attendants. Grocery
vouchers will also be presented to the attendants to appreciate their
effort. We look forward to your unwavering support of joining us to jointly
commemorate World Toilet Day.
